Captain Carpet Cleaning have a prompt and personal emergency cleaning service for families and businesses who have had damaged carpets and furnishings—caused by fire, flood, sewage and vandalism. We can also look after your upholstery cleaning needs caused by these emergency situations.

Each form of damage requires different professional treatment to restore the carpets and furnishings to their original condition.

Water damage

Captain Carpet Cleaning have developed a 5 stage method called tech dry for restoration of flood damaged carpets and rugs:

Stage 1

Inspect premises then remove all furniture from the affected areas.

Stage 2

We then start by removing 95% of the water from the carpet, rug or hard floor, otherwise any prolonged exposure to the water can cause mould and fungus to form which will cause an unhealthy condition for the occupant. Children and pets are particularly vulnerable to this type of hazard.

Stage 3

We will apply a synthetic drying agent to help the carpet to dry quicker and prevent mould and fungus from growing.

Stage 4

Apply an acid rinse to restore the neutral pH balance in the damaged areas of the carpets and rugs.

Stage 5

If your carpets and underlay are severely water damaged then we will provide air movers to accelerate the drying process. These dryers are charged at a rate of $66 per day, per dryer.
Our normal service fee for this is $295 which includes travel time and 1 hour operation time. If more operation time is required to achieve a satisfactory result a rate of $75 per 15 minutes is charged.

Hints & Tips to prevent further damage to the carpet and furniture.

1. Begin ventilating the area by opening all windows and doors as well as turning on heating and air conditioning.
2. Remove items of furniture from the affected areas, where this is not possible place saucers or aluminium foil under furniture legs.
3. Remove wet rugs from area and hang up to dry.
4. NEVER use electrical appliances whilst standing on a wet floor.

Sewerage damage

Raw sewerage is a bio organic bacteria that is extremely hazardous to your health.

Some carpets may not be restorable after direct contact with sewage contaminated water. Children and pets are particularly vulnerable in this situation.

When proper carpet cleaning techniques are used, germicides and disinfectants may restore many carpets to a safe and clean state.

We at Captain Carpet Cleaning have come up with a 5 stage solution called bio-enzyme destroyer:

Stage 1

Inspect premises then remove all furniture off damaged carpets. We supply to clients and use ourselves specially designed shoe covers to stop the spread of bacteria into undamaged areas.

Stage 2

We begin extracting 95% of the contaminated water from the carpets. We will use a special machine called a booster which will double the vacuuming capacity of the machine.

Stage 3

We will start by giving your carpet a deep down pH neutral clean.

Stage 4

We will then re-clean your carpet again with special disinfectants and anti-microbials, which are affective against a broad spectrum of bacteria and inhibits the growth of mould and mildew.

Stage 5

If your carpets and underlay are severely water damaged then we will provide air movers to accelerate the drying process. These dryers are charged at a rate of $66 per day, per dryer.
Note: If carpet is physically damaged we will recommend the carpet and underlay be replaced.

For this type of service we charge $350 which includes travel time and 1 hour operational time. If more operational time is required to achieve a satisfactory result, a rate of $95 per 15 minutes is charged.

Vandal damage

From time to time tenants do not show any respect to their rented premises and carpets need to be restored to their original condition or near enough.

We at Captain Carpet Cleaning service a lot of real-estate agents and we see this as a growing trend. Our experience tells us that not all stains will be removed, but if we can manage between 80% to 90% we find most people are happy with this and it is far cheaper than replacing the carpet.

For this service the price varies because every vandal damage is different. e.g. different stains and different areas need to be cleaned so a quote can not be given until Captain Carpet Cleaning inspect the property.

Fire and Smoke Damage

Smoke damage is usually the result of a fire which contains gases and liquids. After the gases disperse the residue from the smoke is deposited on exposed surfaces.

Due to the seriousness of this type of service we can not provide a quote until examination of the property.
